This year the Fenton Area Clergy Association will again have a combined Thanksgiving Service Project. In response to the many natural disasters in our country, we are partnering with DRAW (Disaster Relief At Work, Inc.). Our goal is to raise funds to purchase bulk items for the DRAW Bucket program. Then, on Sunday, November 24, 3:30 PM, we will get together at the Fenton United Methodist Church Family Life Center, at 119 S. Leroy St, to pack relief/cleanup buckets. DRAW will use these in their relief efforts. If you would like to give to this project, you can make a donation to St. John Church with the memo “DRAW” or “Thanksgiving Project” and drop it in our church collection box or mail it to the office. You may also make an electronic donation HERE.
We are also collecting plastic grocery bags to make Plarn bags. If you have a collection of clean plastic grocery bags with no tears or holes (other than the three that are meant to be there), we are collecting them in the box in the back of the church and in the parish office through the end of the month.
If you would like to give to the Catholic relief efforts, donations marked “Disaster Relief” will be sent to the Diocese of Lansing to help the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops disaster relief efforts. You can contribute to this initiative online by clicking HERE.
