2022 Advent Walk
Advent begins November 27th
The St. John outdoor Advent and Christmas display is a visible witness to our faith: Christ is the center of the Season!
Let's teach our children WHO Christmas is all about and do Something Beautiful for Jesus!
The striking blue and white lights attract our community to "Come and See!" (The 'beacon tree' next to the statue of the Sacred Heart of Jesus can be seen from parts of downtown.)
The Huge outdoor Advent Wreath under the statue of St. John the Evangelist represents our anticipation of Christ's coming--the candles are not lit all at once, but one each Sunday of Advent, symbolizing Hope, Faith, Joy, and Peace.
The three storyboards on the north side of the church, with near life-size characters from the Gospel of Luke, tell the story of Christ's birth. The figures were purchased by generous donors our first year, and were beautifully enhanced with hand painted backgrounds last year.
Bring your children, grandchildren, neighbors, and friends to visit anytime during Advent and Christmas, and join us on December 2 at 6:15pm in the church for music, meditations, and the ADVENT WALK under the heavens.
You can be an evangelist! Help spread the meaning of CHRISTmas! Church funds are not used to provide any of this, we depend on your gifts. You can give at the link below or by check to St. John Church, memo line: Advent Lights.
If you have any questions, please reach out to Melanie French.
