ST. JOHN CHILDREN'S MINISTRY

Picture
WEEKLY FAITH FORMATION sessions for children preschool  through fifth grade can be explored under the GROWING CATHOLICS tab.  Middle School students are also encouraged to join us on Sunday.

SACRAMENT PREPARATION for Reconciliation and Eucharist?  Information and registration is listed HERE.

HOMESTUDY is available for all of our programs.  Information and registration is HERE.

We want the SUNDAY EXPERIENCE for our children to be welcoming and enriching.
  • During the 11:30 Mass we typically offer CHILDREN'S LITURGY OF THE WORD.  Children will be invited to leave with catechists after the Opening Prayer and gather in the Gospel Room (just off the Gathering Space).  There the Sunday scripture readings are proclaimed and explained on a level appropriate to children in grades K-8.   Any child in this age group may participate - no registration is necessary;  older children are invited to come assist with activities for the younger ones.
  • CHILDREN'S CORNER - Check out the Children's Corner of the Welcoming Desk in the Gathering Space.  There we'll have an assortment of fun things, "free things" (i.e. holy medals, cards, etc.) and a CHILDREN'S BULLETIN.
  • FOOD COLLECTION - There is a Food Collection at the 11:30 Mass, during the regular time for Presentation of the Gifts.  Children (and any adults who wish) to bring forward non-perishable foods, toiletries and hygiene items for the poor.  They can put them right in our shopping basket!  Children can also bring forward a note to Jesus about any other gifts he/she has offered during the week - extra prayer, sacrifices, and hard things done without complaint.

PARENT/PARISH CONNECTION!  A great place to keep updated, and to share your own ideas, questions, photos and experiences is our Facebook Page:
