ART AND PRAYER evenings provide an opportunity to make something that you'll be proud to take home, or give as a gift. These artistic experiences are being planned so that everyone will be delighted at what they create. And, we will incorporate a little prayer and some Catholic customs and traditions into the mix. (Come to them all or just those you choose.)
The sessions are for adults, but children in third grade and up are welcome to come with their grown-up.
When is it? Tuesdays
Time and place? 5:30 - 7 p.m.
NEW LOCATION: Art Room in the School
Cost? Participants are welcome to make a donation to cover the cost of materials.
SEPTEMBER 23/30: NICHOS
Across Latin America, people have long created nichos (NEE-chos)—small, colorful shrines that honor a saint; they may also serve as a memorial for a deceased loved one. Brightly painted and often decorated with flowers, mirrors, or little doors, nichos bring beauty and devotion together into our homes.
We invite you to join us some special evenings of art and prayer as we create our own nichos. Simple but fun supplies will be available to help you design what is really a “prayer corner in miniature.” Your nicho can be completely unique, reflecting your devotion to God and the saints, or serving as a reminder of someone you loved.
No art experience is needed—just a desire to create and share fellowship. All supplies will be provided. REGISTER HERE.
“Art is a reflection of God’s creativity, an evidence that we are made in the image of God.”
