I once heard it said that, "as Catholics we are taught how to say our prayers, but not how to pray."
Relationship is the key to prayer, but we often don't seek a relationship with God. We are also very good at prayer excuses to disqualify ourselves from prayer. Part Four on "How We Pray" breaks down our prayer barriers and gives us greater understanding on how wonderful and intimate prayer can be for all of us, not just for the saints. That being said, the Catechism does not sugar coat the real effort that prayer requires, and how it is a self gift of ourselves to Our Lord.
